Description

A mega digifiddle with this image below, which I should like you to open to read what it is! It's a piece of 'conceptual' art which I normally don't have much time for, but I enjoyed this. Sonnet

The colors are wonderful and when I saw the title, "Poncho" I immediately thought of the Star Wars movies: it's a rule in Star Wars that if you ever want to don a foolproof disguise (so that highly trained enemies won't recognize you) wear a poncho: no one will ever even see you in one of those. Okay, but all cheesy serials aside: I really love this fiddle (and the sonnet reference it carries, though with the swirly business going on, I think this is probably something along the lines of...well...what's the ballet version of a sonnet? It reminds me of one of those. I'm sure there's a name for what I'm thinking about. This is vibrant and fun!

Just a minute. Fourteen lines, four, four, three and three? No one warned me this would involve math. You do explain it very well, even for someone at my level and the result is brilliant.

Thanks for taking the time to explain Andrea ! Although it is as clear as mud for me ! ! Smiles. The design and mix of colors are very eye catching.

I love both these images, and I gotta tell you, when this first went up I actually considered writing a sonnet for my comment! (Not easy---which you can see by the fact that I didn't do it.) I even tried a Shakespearean sonnet---just for the fun of his diction, even though your flickr version isn't in that scheme...but it didn't work. Ah well. But I love the idea, and the flickr version is both eye candy, as a visual sonnet, as well as as a shot of repeating patterns. Your RR version, on the other hand, is a big swirl, with real clarity and strong and vivid hues, and contrasts between them. Very musical. I love the whole idea. I studied "the Interrelation of the Arts" in grad school, so I'm a big fan of combining arts. So this was right up my alley. And the RR version is a big exuberant dance. Terrific. (Here was my first sonnet line: "On looking on these ribbons, to and fro..."------that's as far as I got. Of course you can always throw in quotes as filler: "On looking on these ribbons, to and fro/I all alone beweep my outcast state/I summon up remembrance of things past/and look upon myself and curse my fate..." There are 2 Shakespearean sonnets in there, and they make absolutely no sense together.) Love the concept and the execution here. Well I'm at an hour, and I did 9 images, I think, so I'll stop for now. But I'll come back soon. It's always a pleasure, Andrea, your gallery has immense variety along with your inimitable eye, sense of style, penetration, humor and everything else you impart to your images...
