Description
Helloo to you all:))))
Here i am with another visit...i still cannot be here as i would like, but I continue beeing a ''spy'' of your Art, what is a blessing to my eyes and a wonderful source of inspiration.
I am so grateful for that !
I wanted to show you another experience with my new dry *pastels*. It was my 3rd attempt and this time, i washed it with alcohol and worked with rubber over all and pastel again . The paper is a bit 'satinée' in the surface, with 100 lbs.
The title...just came with a music that i use to listen to, when i draw--Final Cut--a kind of a muse in some situations to me...:))
My thanks for being here with me and for all the support that you always gave me.
I wish everybody a great week ahead and all the best that you can get ! Much health and criativity also.
Well, Summer is almost there...i wish to you all a Happy ending of Spring
Peace! Ana

Ana, this is pure magic. It's very moving. You draw people who seem to come out of an ancient past, like ancestors or ghosts or prophets from another age. But they also feel like they're from right now, like you met this person outside your door, last night. I think this person could be male or female---but, to me, she looks female: like a woman you met last night, whose soul is thousands of years old, and who sits in deep thought or meditation, and knows everything. I love the title, because it implies that this woman knows what's behind everything. Ie, history, our lives, the mysteries of life...And, though she's wrapped in her gown, she doesn't look unkind or forbidding---to me, she looks gentle and "absorbed". Ie, deeply involved in her inner thoughts. I truly think, if we asked her what she "saw," she'd tell us. Just maybe not in words... Full size, we can see the smoothness of your pastels---when you rubbed rubber across the drawing, you made it very smooth: So she looks like a small whirlwind---only at rest. Or like someone hibernating. In deep rest. I love your reds, those brick-reds and rust-reds: They give your drawing the feeling of a kiln, a place of warmth where things are created. The drawing feels like it came out of you "in a flash," like you felt it suddenly, and then put it on paper. I know it takes a lot longer than that, of course; but you've made art, for years, that feels that way: Ie, like you "received it from the air" and put it onto paper. Like this woman just appeared to you. It's beautiful and very touching. You know, you've shown mastery of pastels in just 3 drawings---more than I have in 300! You definitely should have pastels! And I love that you drew one side in deep brick-red; but you left the other side in a tinted-white (tinted with a bit of pink or red): So there are the two sides of her. (Yin and yang, something like that.) I'm so grateful you posted this: Art like this makes the long wait totally worthwhile. Thank you for another masterpiece of deep intuition...your art is filled with prophets and visions, and it's very, very moving...

Oh, I was so worried, when I saw Mark had already commented, that he would have said what I wanted to say, as he so often does. BUT! :) He did not, so I may continue. :) I have this nice and big on my screen so I can see it with my currently-less-than-good eyesight, and so I scrolled down from the top to the bottom, not seeing it all at once. That was good for me, because I sensed that she was a secret keeper. Her downward look, her folded hands, the feeling of the color you chose, all says that yes, there is something behind the wall and she knows what it is. But as I scrolled down, I learned the truth. It's her toes! Everything points to her hands, but it's the toes that actually know the story, and they are full of fun and life and something that wants to giggle! So this serious, mysterious face/hands thing is just a red herring ... something to distract our attention from the real truth ... while the toes, meanwhile, tap in time to the music she's secretly humming to herself. Then I looked at it smaller, then bigger again, and noticed that she's smiling this lovely Mona Lisa smile, and I knew I was right. :) She will tell you what's behind the wall, but it isn't going to be what you expected to hear! So! There you go. Nobody else noticed the toes. :P LOL! I have no idea what you intended, of course, since we always bring ourselves to other people's art, but I loved the image I saw and the story I told myself that I'd never heard before. :) It's always good to see your work. This is just wonderful!

This is one fantastic creation. This old lady is simply perfect. So mysterious and full of secrets, that you will have to pay a high price to know about. I am not shure I dare to ask whats in the walls. You did a really excellent job creating this and I love the soft look and the perfect colors for this. Superbly done dearest Ana :))))))))))))
