Description
So we bow out of Chapter Three with another double-page spread. Multiple versions of the Tardis on display here, including that Bryce Police Box from Boardman (http://www.sharecg.com/v/36900/browse/5/3D-Model/Police-Box).
TARDIS- time and relative dimensions in space- are (for those unfamiliar with British TV) advanced time and space machines that happen to be bigger on the inside due to some very dodgey science and the same economic considerations that led to the invention of matter transmission on Star Trek. That is- you have a weekly sci-fi show and you want to show your heroes visiting distant worlds in far off galaxies. However you don't have the budget to fork out for special effects showing rocket shops landing on said distant worlds. Why not have them arriving in a Police Box/ Beaming down from their space ship instead? Cuts out a lot of unnecessary expense and means you can cut to the heart of the action within the 23 minutes or 45 minutes you are working with. Simples.
As for Romana- h'mm- well I was aiming for Lalla Ward and ended up with a version of Romana that seems to sit between LW and Mary Tamm. And yet succeeds in looking like neither, which I think is quite an achievement actually.
Aldemps 'Fifth Doctor' console also features as I am sure it was being used before than.
Sorry to non-whovians to whom, most of this discussion is either moot or tedious. Let's just say it seemed impossible to have this story without the Doctor popping his head in for a look. Now what about his oldest enemies?
We'll just have to see.
Doctor Who is copyright of th BBC as are TARDIS, Timelords and so on.

I wondered if you might have opted for BluBeetle's Mary Tamm (Romana 1) morph for V4, but as you stated, you went for the Lalla Ward version. Of course, pedantic fans would have squawked that Romana did not encounter Davros until she regenerated. Obviously, you know your Who lore. That's one thing that kinda' seems a bit odd, Romana "burning" a regeneration simply because she wanted to try something "different". Now, as you probably know, Lalla got the role because Mary became pregnant after her first series. That's part of the reason we didn't see Tamm "change". Of course, they could have recorded her from the chest upwards. Anyway, it seems a frivolous way to chip a decent percentage of one' potential life span. Funny enough, there was a plot point that would have been perfect for a regeneration. Remember the prisoners mining the ruins of Skaro told Romana the only why "out" was death. Later, she collapses, seemingly dead and the prisoners "bury" her. In reality, she placed herself into a trance and by the time the Doctor came to extricate her body, he discovered she was quite alright. Now, with Tamm being pregnant, I'm not sure how they could have recorded her scenes without it looking awkward, but let's assume they "managed". the story could have started with Tamm arriving at Skaro with Tom, no "trying on different forms". Like Ward, she's captured and sent to the mines. Alas, the Daleks have seized her radiation pills. So she starts to fall ill to the radiation poisoning. She collapses "dead" and the prisoners remove her body and bury her. Once they leave, she regenerates into Lalla Ward. Maybe the Doctor witnesses it, maybe she's already changed by the time he reaches her, leading to some initial confusion. But it would have been a far better reason than simple vanity. Alas, as noted above, recording Tamm's shots would have been awkward, depending upon how far along was her pregnancy. Sincerely, Bill

Great Close of the chapter. I'm curious how it goes. Very well done!
