Description

The previous post of Mt. St. Helens was a before and after eruption image 35 years ago. This post is what the mountain looked like a few weeks ago when the kids and I went. Like this POV for it shows the magma dome that built up between 2004-2008. Have included a link to a time lapse video showing the magma domes formation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6B1myUKAS4 To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!!

I went there several years ago. It is a wondrous place indeed, and nice to relive my memories through your lovely image.

I remember standing almost where you were five years ago and just blown away by the devastation still evident after thirty years. This is a great shot of the mountain and surrounding area.

What a glorious shot! It was a massively destructive event I remember well! The healing by time and nature is a remarkable thing!

Really beautiful image! I clearly remember when this happened, and flew over Mount St. Helen's a couple of years ago. Even from that height, it was a haunting experience. Really beautiful image and cool video! Excellent done!

What a stunning image - despite the devastation, thanks for sharing the link of this phenomena, which actually happens regularly around the world as we are speaking, presently in Thailand - the planet Earth is never at rest for long ... BB
