Dans la plus pure tradition "cyvesque" ! Encore, encore !!

Oh, a delightful interpretation of the face: Just lips, and that big swath of black: It could be her hair, or it could be a hat. Maybe it's both. But your minimal techniques work beautifully here. The lips are in just the right place---this isn't a small point: If you put them down a little more, it might not look like a face. And if you put them higher, they'd be too high, and we might not know it's a face at all. The hand is painted in a small number of strokes, and it's all we need to feel the woman's whole body. Really, that's all you give us, for her whole body: Just her left hand, her wrist, and the beginning of her arm. You've suggested an entire human form with but one wrist and hand. You do that beautifully. Like a number of your images, you "end" this image in a long limb flowing into the bottom of the frame. Here, instead of doing that with her legs (or gowns), you do it with her wrist and arm. It is the "anchor," once more, of the whole image: Her whole head and expression seems to rest on that one thin wrist. I've noticed how you do this often: You allow a whole human being to rest on a few very graceful set of lines---that's all you need to "ground" your figures. And, to balance out all the white space? That thick black hat. A bold contrast, with balance... Beautifully done once more, Yves. I know I've only commented on 4 images tonight, but I've spent 45 minutes with them, and I've loved them all. (I see everything you post, when you post it, of course.) But it's always a joy to sit with your work, and comment on it. Beautiful work, as always. And I hope more people will "zoom" your images: They are so expressive and graceful, zoomed. A beautiful body of work.
