to me this is a very spooky image. They look lost and waiting. They look like they are on the other side of the veil. And they look like they will judge us.

Giuliano...I have a bad back right now, so I can't comment very long. I'll return to your gallery soon...and I'll re-write this comment, with greater length. But I wanted to tell you that I've seen everything you've posted, since my last comments. And I've just loved them! This is an astonishing image---it's astonishing. I love how you "massed" all the animals into a huge sculptural presentation. It's almost a bas relief---except it's a full sculpture. The massive, head-on presence of these animals is stunning. And your portrayal of rain in the background---it's brilliant. I'll be back in a day or two, and I'll re-write this comment. I'll say a lot more...But, for now, this is brilliant. (Your next image is brilliant too---"Modern Sculpture and Cats".) I'll be back again soon...you're doing great work here.

I'm back, Giluliano. And I want to leave a much better comment. This is epic. You've made an astonishing image. The animals---gathered for the Ark---are lined up in a massive "wall of life". You've rendered them in deep copper reds, or a copper browns, or a bronze browns---it's a combination of all those hues. You've made them like carved metal. They look like a vast monument, built by Noah. Or perhaps built by some higher power. You've put all these animals---all in "two's"---in a formation: They face us in a vast wall, as if they were gathered for a portrait. Or, for a "group photograph". But they also look like they're ready to stampede at us. Not in an unfriendly way, but rather like they want to surround us. There's something very positive about this group, even though they're so commanding. Your sculptural details are remarkable. Further, they stand on the surface of water. And the water looks like it's made of silver and black-gold. It's beautiful. In the background...like huge water drops. Massive water drops. As if they're rain drops, only they're as big as people. And they glow behind the animals. Maybe it's a vast curtain of water and light. Maybe these animals have walked "through" that curtain of water and light. In your images, there are many possibilities, and all of them could be true. The original Noah story is, of course, a moral tale. But your portrait transcends 'right and wrong': Your portrait portrays cosmic mysteries. Mysteries beyond even 'right and wrong'...It's like a huge wall of all of life. And it stands before us in gold-red hues. And it gives us a choice. I'm not sure what that choice is, but it may have to do with accepting life, or denying it. And, in any case, it's a beauteous presentation of life before the flood. Finally, your "crop" makes us focus on those animals. All the water, underneath and behind the animals, is crammed into a small "frame" surrounding these animals. That makes the animals "fill the whole frame". It looks like all the animals on earth have gathered for a "group portrait" in front of the primal waters of creation... It's stunning, Giuliano. A beautiful, huge vision of the old, old story from Genesi. A brilliant and powerful vision from you. You are one of our best artists, and this demonstrates why. Brilliant work.
