Description

Haven't been doing as much photography as I would like lately, so back to some photos from a trip to France several years ago. This was one I took in Dijon, early in the morning, as the vendors were setting up their stalls in the marketplace...

ditto Denise---if you have lots of shots like this in your archives, you can go back to them anytime. A beautiful intense street shot, with the feeling of winding from a dark cavernous beginning (the front of the shot) to an opening into light. The angles are so clear, as is the detail. And the varying hues of the facades---from sooty greens to rich orange-yellows to shadows and red-browns, etc---make a real montage. The activity back there---how nice you had a clear street in front---seems like a series of booths for selling wares, I don't know. And the sky is near white, setting off the whole. A very fine street capture, very European (very French), with that "MEX" sign drawing us to the front, while the rest of us draws us to the back. Wonderful.
