Description

Hi All I have finally had another chance to fiddle around with iRay in Daz Studio and have spent a couple of days looking at how the people in the Daz forums have approached hair texturing, seeing the results and then figuring out which bits would combine to produce a result that I am happy with, and would produce half decent speculars that moved depending on the lighting. Using the elite ponytail as a mesh, I have used Mec4D's Unshaven 2 shader as a base, added back in the hair colour maps and then used the metallic flakes option (also seen here in the bikini) to produce the specular highlights by filtering it through a specular map. The 3 images above all use exactly the same textures. The only difference is the HDRI maps used in the rendering. There are no other lights in the scene. One HDRI is a bright sunny outdoor scene, one is from an evenly lit scene with diffuse light and the third is a studio setup using a couple of softboxes. Of course this could all fall flat on a different hair mesh but so far so good. Thanks for looking....
