Oh, wonderful...another example of why you deserved artist of the month...this is like a scene from a modern version of The Threepenny Opera (Die Dreigroschenoper), in its macabre, funny, dark, wild and delightfully creepy feeling. As a traditional painter/drawer, I really have no idea what Mixed Medium work is like, nor the effort involved in 3D construction and rendering...but I do get the feeling that it takes a huge amount of effort, time, and planning. And, how the best of you turn out an image that's as natural as this, is beyond me. (My few efforts at 3D have been so bad, I never went back to it again.) The three people here are gleeful in their menace; and the costumes are terrific, as well as the "ruffs" around their necks (an old Renaissance throwback), and their "spectator shoes". (That's what they're called in England and the US: I don't know what they're called on the Continent...but that two-toned dress shoe was made for Upper Class Brits to be 'spectators' at parades and polo matches...that way, they could wear dressy shoes, but still look 'casual'. When spectator shoes hit the U.S., they were used mainly by jazz musicians and gangsters, lol. The latter fits this image perfectly!) I love the Jack Daniels truck in the background---in a 20's gangster van---and the overall dark ambience of the whole image. The frontal line-up of the 3 gangsters make a theatrical 'front' to the image. Beautifully done once more, Ute.
