Description

There are quite a few fledged from this brood, but because looking in that particular box meant getting out a step ladder I didn't keep tabs on them, like I did with the Great Tit family. Another Baby Blue Tit

Made me laugh - this little bird's expression seems to be saying "What the hell are you looking at, lady?"...

a lovely portrait for the tilt of the little bird, and the expression looking right at us. And the light on the stem and the tit's yellow-green belly. Very sweet. A sweet mini portrait, and a beautiful little bird, too. (You may know it, but birds have a family of songs, each for different purposes. And many of the most beautiful songs are to announce their presence, warn intruders, attract females, etc. Some of the songs are highly complex, and when slowed down, they make most fascinating melodic lines. Beethoven imitated bird calls in his Pastoral Symphony; but the songs were too complex for his music, so he abbreviated 2 of them heavily. A bird's warble can flit through all kinds of pitches very rapidly, and hit each one accurately as it goes. We were amazed to see how complex the songs were.)
