Description

India is known for the hustle and bustle of its cities in the daytime, but when night comes, the heat and bustle slowly go away and the atmosphere gets more peaceful and serene, like this night scene I shot in the city of Puducherry ( Pondichéry, in French) which used to be the main city of the ' Territoire de Pondichéry', the French Union Territory of India formed out of four exclaves of former French India, when a large part of India was under both French and British rules...I was fascinated and amused by the attitude of the Indian passer-by, for whom the display of modern day cakes was perhaps far more spectacular than the vision of the traditional Indian cakes and chappatis still avalaible and advertised to the left of the bakery....

Thank you very much for your comments on my previous photo of an Indian sunrise. Please zoom in for more details on this new photo, and ...have a nice and sunny week-end!

Jean-Luc, thank you so much for sharing this wonderful photo as well as you're thoughts behind it. Because of you we are able to see first hand exotic locations that sadly most of us could only dream of visiting. By any chance do you have a photo of the traditional cakes that you mentioned?

interesting info to this excellent nightlife shot! and I thought it is like in Iraque, when the sun is down the life starts! and I wonder that there are modern cakes in this shop! ;o)
