Description

Caleya didn't really believe the dragons had followed her into the northern territory. "They could have easily ambushed me in the mountains," she thought, "and these other unusual encounters can't be explained so easily." "First a Great Eagle, those creatures never involve themselves with Elven affairs. Yet one has intervened twice and this last time at great risk to itself. Then Orcs in the northern territory and now these cursed Fireworms. It seems we are all being drawn here for some reason. But what is the attraction to this empty wilderness?" Then she looked up at NarieFah. "can it be that this unusual gathering is being drawn to this child?" At that moment Caleya was struck with a vision of her first encounter with the Great Eagle when it said to her. "you are to assist the Elven Scout NarieFah in the protection of the lost." Caleya was almost overwhelmed by the vision and the possible meaning of these words. She said in a loud voice, "The Lost?" "No, that's impossible!" But inside she had a sick feeling like she had messed up badly. In a trembling voice she said, "NarieFah, please show me the glowing stone you told me about, the stone you found with the dragon skeleton." When Caleya saw the stone she understood and was very upset with herself. She spat out, "I am a DRAGON ARCHER! I should have known what the Great Eagle meant. But I wasn't listening and now I have likely doomed the very thing Dragon Archers are sworn to protect!" NarieFah was getting scared and said, " Caleya, please stop, I don't understand what you mean. Are you mad at me?" Caleya blinked and then said, "What? Mad at you, no, of course not." Then in a softer voice she said, "I am only upset with myself, you have done nothing wrong." She let out a long breath to calm herself before continuing. "If only we had known of this the whole of the Elven kingdom would have come to its protection. My dear child, this is no stone you have found, it is an egg. One of the lost eggs of the Green Dragons." NarieFah was in shock and for a long time she just stared at Caleya and the stone-egg she was holding in her hands. Finally she spoke, "But Caleya, those old stories, about lost eggs, they, they are just a myth - Right?"

I think some of you expected Caleya would want to destroy the green dragon egg, but her vendetta is not against all dragons. It is only against the Red Dragons for killing her sister in (Caleya - The Vendetta). In this story the Dragon Archers were originally formed to keep the Red Dragons out of the Northern Territory and to protect the lost eggs. Like all Dragon Archers Caleya has taken an oath to protect the lost eggs. But in Caleya's time that has not been necessary for many centuries. In her wrath, Caleya could have forget all stories on Green Dragons. Yes, i was afraid by this reaction. Fortunately, she is ready to take care of the egg, and always of NarieFah. Light is excellent, and great expression on the NarieFah face! Now, they must find a plan to escape of this place quickly, and protect their treasure. Have a good day!

The two archers are so beautiful and well posed, the POV is well chosen, I like also the expression of NarieFah and the dragon egg in her hand ! Your story is very gripping, gorgeous work !
