Description
Armed and dangerous, this prolific branching tree defends itself well against assaults by errant lawn mowers. It hasn't flowered this season, so I am anxiously anticipating ****
After reading through .net info-sources, this "barbed" version of locust seems bound for extinction, being replaced by its hybrid cousins... as are we all..

As a kid, I discovered those thorns make wicked darts for a soda-straw blowgun! I don't know how many times I got my fingers punctured trying to get them off the tree trunks. Sad they're on the road to extinction. Great shot of them!
