Description

Thundershield - the players: As promised, here is some photo shots from a run-through of the play Thundershield. The real costumes are not made yet, so it looks somewhat different from the renders. The costumes seen here are "pickups" from the wardrobe. One of the actors, Bylgja, was absent because she has to finish another theater project she worked with. The actors in Thundershield are four very skilled and experienced actors who have played together before. It is a very international crew as they come from Iceland, Sweden, Iran and Denmark. Karim Maktabi, with Iranian roots plays the Danish-Norwegian naval hero Thundershield. Besides being an actor he is a splendid dancer, a singer and a stuntman who teaches other actors to perform stunts safely. Last, he has a "Hero-school" working with both body and mind to create balanced children and grownups to be confident in all aspects of life - heroes. Bylgja Aegis is from Iceland but has been studying drama and theater in many places in Europe like London and Paris to name a few. She has been playing all kinds of characters and types from comedy, farce and drama on the stages and is an excellent singer, too. I will give you a link to a trailer to a show where three of the actors participate in the end of this presentation. Lars Lundin is from Sweden but speaks Danish too - which gave me some good possibilities in the script to present characters from the "other side" in the "Big Nordic War" between the Kingdom Denmark-Norway and the kingdom of Sweden. He is an extraordinary talent as a player and can portray actually anything, farce or tragic. He sings and dances too. Signe Gravlund Thomsen, the stage director, is a very experienced actor and multi-artist with her own business as drama teacher and performer who plays for children and families. Very acrobatic, she works with both fire and stilts. She has been travelling all over the world and has worked and performed with all kinds of artists and actors, booth in Europe as well South America, India.. The play shows a concentrated story about the peoples hero, Thundershield (maybe with some ADHD?) and his very cautious valet, Christian. The story is both based on historical facts as well as a fairy tale, hopes, dreams. A comedy - sometimes a farce caused by the never resting, very talkative Thundershield. The tragic comes as a consequence of his way of life. During the play a lot of women passing by in his life, many of them very confident strong characters. Thundershield and Christian appear as a "night & day" couple but also friends. The whole mixture is presented as a cabaret lasting around an hour. Below is a link to a trailer to a farce for children with all four o actors in Thundershield. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AEvKqA50uY (copy & paste) Photos except one by me. Have a very nice week! :o) Rhanagaz aka JohnnyC

Well Johnny, that looks and sounds like an international troupe, how exciting for you and all your friends ... and lot's of preparations - Good luck to you and as they say in English: 'go and break a leg' !!! - I know that doesn't sound too good, but that's what actors usually tell each other, before they go on stage and not meaning it ! weird custom indeed, go figure ! ;)) BB
