Time marches on, leaving a trail of destruction.
If everything stayed the same, there would be no memories, so maybe it's for the best... that another generation creates its own memories.

Someday - 5,000 years from now, (assuming we haven't eradicated all life on the planet) some archeologist will uncover this site, and get really excited. Neat shot of the 'progress' my friend!
