Description

This little guy is a Little Green Herron chick. We have had very violent thunder storms and I figure this little one has gotten blown far away from home. He is quite skinny. I have no idea how old he is. He is NOT impressed with my mothering skills. I hope I can keep him alive long enough to raise him and set him free. I think he is very beautiful.

Beautiful photo, Bev. As for feeding, I'm thinking of a long pair of tweezers (like those in a salad bowl) painted the same color as mommy's beak. As I understand, herons eat anything (watch your fingers) so feeding it morcels of fish and meat with the "mommy" look-alike tweezers hopefully will impress it and make feeding time more enjoyable. Good luck with the little fellow. I'd be glad to see his progress from time to time (depending on how you have time to photograph and post!) Keep up the good work! :-)
