Hi All,
I have dabbled in computer graphics for many years, renewing my interest when I discovered the community on Renderosity, many years ago now. Thanks for all the friends, support, comments and just views! I hope that you like what you see, and don't mind my endless experimenting and daft sense of humour!I have become something of a champion for Carrara and believe it to be one of the most comprehensive and best value 3D packages available. I became known for my extensive use of Carrara's dynamic hair and 2010 has seen the release of a number of commercial Carrara hair products. I have also recorded a whole series of video tutorials for Infinite Skills Inc available over at Daz and also here:http://www.infiniteskills.com/training/learning-carrara-7.htmlOne of my other passions is music and I used to be keyboard player with progressive rock band Manning (2008-2009). I was delighted to make my recording debut on "Number Ten" released early 2009 - I also had a big hand in designing the CD cover and booklet! I am now writing and recording some demos of my own music. Thanks for looking - have a great day! Phil

It is very cool indeed. I wonder if you will need another one for platinum blond. I have found that in many cases Reality bugs out on hair color too. One thing that helped me was changing the glossiness down to 50% in DAZ. Also, Carrara seems to change the color based on the amount of light. I. E. the problem that I was having last year with white backgrounds turning gray. If you can in Octane, you could set a light in Carrara just to the hair to lighten it without changing anything else. That is one of the features that I wish DAZ had that Carrara has.

I have created a set of around 20 shaders so far, including paler and platinum blonde shades. And yes, the colour in a render will always be dependent on the light setup which you are using. As Octane is physically based, you can't actually set a light to illuminate one object and not others as you can with Carrara's lights, but you can position lights carefully so that they pick out what you want.
