Description

To be more specific, Ingersoll-Rand Blaw-Knox PF3200 pneumatic asphalt paver. One of my favorite beasts, captured back on 1/21/09, early am, a couple of miles from home. jocko500 should love this. The subject matter I receive the least comments and viewings on, but I like it anyway. There is more to life than sunsets, flora and fauna. Have a nice day.

Wow, I have NO idea what that huge piece of equipment does exactly, but it's amazing that someone thought of it and built it and that it now exists in common usage throughout the land. Great captures, Harry!

Got to see one of these monsters last summer when they repaved the road in front of where I work. Looks like it would also be a rather hot machine to be stuck on all day as well. Great photos!

ok I'm skipping forward again, I just feel guilty ignoring later works all the time. MAN is this a beast. And yes, there is more to life than sunsets, flora and fauna (ala your description): This is a beast fully deserving of your eye and attention. Denise said "it now exists in common usage throughout the land": What land, lol???? I've NEVER seen one of these! Maybe our streets just aren't big enough. Man that's a frightening looking monster. Both shots have a kind of bleached look that makes this look like it came from another planet. Very fitting. The stark white sky is actually filled with blues and painterly textures, but the overall feel is of bleaching light. The angle on both shots let us see all the parts. And the top shot---with those chairs up there? It looks like a vehicle for a movie director (and his cameraman), on a huge monster film. The bottom shot shows us the frightful jaws of the thing---I don't know which is the front or back, sorry, I just know I wouldn't want to sit in either place. With your angle, we can see just how long this thing is. I don't imagine they cart these "in groups"---and you'd need a pretty big garage to house this moster. Big bold captures, and lots of nearly eerie bleached light. Man, it has presence. Fine find and capture.
