Description

This Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher had to keep throwing his lunch up in the air and catching it again so that he could snip off the bits he didn't want to swallow. (better seen in zoom-the preview is not very sharp). He eventually grabbed the grasshopper with his talons to finish the job. Fun to watch bird behavior. Thanks very much to everyone who answered my question on my previous post. I have always made my own thumbnails. Nice to know that I can let Renderosity create the vertical thumbnails for me. Thanks for looking and thanks for your views and comments!

Superb photo! I have to say there are many parts of a grasshopper that I shouldn't want to swallow.

What MrsRatbag said, in spades. Incredible clarity in zoom. Do you thing the Flycatcher's tail is long enough? Probably needs it to keep its balance in juggling dragonflies, Maria.
