Description
Captured 6/27/15 @ 8:12 am, somewhere around the neighborhood.
Don't see much of this species anymore. It's been several years since I posted the last ones. And, even if it isn't a dahlia, please humor me and don't say anything.
Have a nice day.

Dahlia it is, Harry, big bold and incredibly lovely; it's too early yet for them here this year, but I'm hoping for a good crop of them in all my usual spots to look. Spectacular capture of this mauve marvel!

don't worry, I will humor you and not correct your flower specie---I don't know most flower species, so I'd make an idiot of myself if I guessed. But from what your commenters say, you had it right. I agree with the above, and love Denise's "mauve marvel". Boy this just bursts out right at us, Harry: It's like it saw us coming and just exploded. The deep purples bloom with all that white on top of them. And the petals just open wildly for us. Also you have some decayed petals on the edges, and on the left-most bloom---I love them, in contrast to the full-bloomed flower. Another of your classic flower shots---proving my point about that dark sunflower shot (which was much darker than most of your flower shots). This is gorgeous. Harry, a real beauty of a capture. I'm at about 75 minutes, and while I'd intended to do several more, I have to go now, unfortunately. I'll be back for more soon; but at least I did another long session here. All great stuff, and this is a beautiful place to end, for now. (And I'll skip the old Broadway Musical Carol Channing joke, "Hello Dahlia...")
