An exquisite alphabet block created by your unique talents, Helle. Like an oil painting, it is. Is ugle Dutch for owl? And, I still can't believe you're a grandmother.

a few comments, above, on your being a grandma. Andrea called you a "very brave Grandma". Does she mean, because you make these alphabet pieces? (Brave---so what: these alphabet pieces are capable of jumping up and take off a finger??? They band together and trash the living room? I'll agree you're a terrific grandmother; and with all your energy and joy, I'm with Harry that it's hard to believe you're a grandmother...but if there's a connection between this piece and being brave, I missed it, lol...I think Andrea means you have courage to do pieces like this, with total commitment and abandon. In that case I totally agree.) (😀) (that was an emoticon! I hope it shows up, I've never USED them before! I'm 66 and a half, I've had computers since 1991, and I've never used an emoticon until NOW! do you know how pitiful that is???) This is typical of your alphabet series, and a wonderful panel: It looks like it's painted on wood, with your usual elements of flowing borders, flowers attached and non-attached, at least one animal---in this case, the featured owl (ugle)---the letter itself, ornaments (like the string of little flower-ovals on the right), patterns in the background (looks like you got some gears in there, and a peace symbol), little stamps or finger prints, decay, and beautiful deep pastel hues. These alphabet pieces are little treasures from you. Truly, if it weren't for the fact that it would take huge time and effort, I'd pay you to get the entire set professionally printed, and then pay you to send it to me. Problem is, it would be too big a project, and you'd have to go somewhere probably far to do it, and it would be a mess. But when I get there one day, I look forward to holding this series in my hands. It's a cornucopia of imagination and play and beauty. And you just have a few more letters to go, right? Wonderful once more, and I love the owl, and how you use deep browns and earth reds to contrast all the hues in the piece. 👯 (that emoticon's supposed to be two people dancing in joy...)
