My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I'm not really into the abstract photography thing, it drives me nuts when I can't figure out what it's suppose to be. But this, this I really really like. The whole thing is just incredible. This is a perfect piece of art.

Tara - I'm really happy to hear that the surgery went so well & I'm sure you must be both relieved & thrilled. And this photo, which is so keenly & precisely observed, is the perfect piece of evidence that your vision has regained it's clarity...

Yay! Me too! Did you polish the teapot before you shot this? My eyes dance around the gloss and are led right up to the steam. I like the contrast between the sharpness of the teapot and the fuzziness of the steam.

Simply but lovely capture.

Oh, hurrah and YAY!!! Glad it was worth it and that you can see again. And what a super shot to celebrate. When I saw the title I immediately thought of Peter Gabriel's hair being raised by clouds of blown steam..."Secret World" tour. I guess you had to be there ;)

WOW, Tara, my deepest respect and congratulations to you! This image has something mysterious to me, my friend.

congratulations on your news, even though it's almost a month later. (My timing sucks the big one---but I've already congratulated you privately.) This is another delightful closeup that makes the familiar totally new and like a sudden discovery. It took a minute for me to see the actual steam: I realized it was a kettle (thus the "steam" in your title), but I didn't see the steam until after I looked a bit---which is wonderful anticipation. Really well done! The shiny accents, the smooth flow of the metal, the lights in the background, the mix of silver tones with deep red or gold tones---all these make a beautiful abstract of metal and lights and deep dark. Wonderful dark. And it's a delight. And the steam is just present enough to make itself felt. Beautiful work, as always, and it's so great to see you back here again. I hope this weekend was good for you both! (I had intended to do several of your images, but I took 30 minutes on your poem, so here I am doing only two. I want to do Bill's latest, and then rest. But I'll be back soon---I'm gonna catch up no matter what. You have some real beauties, one after the next---I've seen them all, and I'll comment on them all before too long. Have a fine sunday!)
