Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I like tomato but not as much as this, I think I would have gone for the trout too. Nice shot to get your teeth into !!

Looks delicious and the trout sounds good to but call me old fashioned you can't beat a bag of fish and chips.

OH Yummy :-) It looks like something I would be willing to eat :-) Excellent shot too.

I like all the ingredients, so I probably would have enjoyed this. In any case, it's very artistically presented, by both chef & photographer...

Oh yum. I'd go for the tomato business. That sounds fabulous, and it's visually quite satisfying, as well!

Yummm, they both look good and the restaurant's presentation is as perfect as your shot.

well, as a vegetarian, I'd probably love this dish. I eat tomatoes all the time, but they never look like this. Yes, the chef's presentation is beautiful, but your saturated hues and clarity of colors and forms (clear, at least, where the dish allows, as there are some 'saucy' areas where there's a natural blur involved) make this jump out at us. And I like the near abstraction of the background---I assume you had a hand in that. Whenever you post a restaurant dish in your gallery, I run off to my kitchen, only to find that I got NOTHIN' like the dish you just posted. And I wind up eating tofu, and cursing. A big lush beautiful shot, with the right amount of grayish background to set it all off. I'll be back for a lot more, Andrea---I mean of your artwork---but it's a pleasure to comment here after so many days. I've seen everything, and loved all I've seen. (We have insects in chicago too, but I'll never capture one the way you do everyday...) (awright, you wanna hear a joke I just heard? A guy shouts, in a bar: "All lawyers are assholes!!!" A guy in the back shouts, "WATCH IT!!!" The guy upfront says, "are you a lawyer???" And the guy in back shouts, "No---I'm an Asshole!")
