Description
Taken along the 17 Mile Drive in Carmel. This is a private road that runs through the gated community of Pebble Beach. Non-residents such as myself have to pay $10 for the privilege of driving this route. In addition to magnificent views, beaches & tidepools, it features wildlife (seals, cormorants, deer & others), three famous gold courses (Spyglass Hill, Cypress Point & Pebble Beach) & baronial mansions. My wife & I had done it before many years ago, but repeated it for the sake of our grandson. Worth a visit, though getting in & out of the car repeatedly gets old fast. For those physically fit enough to manage it, bicycling might be a better option. If you're mainly interested in the natural environment & could care less about the golf courses & architecture, you could skip it entirely & head to Point Lobos State Park a few miles away, which, imho, is even more spectacular (pics to follow in the next few days)...

It's a beautiful drive to do at least once in a lifetime if you can; I loved seeing the deer grazing in the iceplant everywhere. Stunning capture of the tidepool, super detail!

Nice composition and post processing. I love the result!

The reflection from the seawater, which is almost totally white in the photo, could have been kept in check with a circular polarizer. You are right; this is a nice area.
