I detest some of my neighbors because they do not care about other people's rights. it is against the law every where in Dallas County to possess fireworks and or use them. the police does not respond to calls except for the affluent areas, unless they can be involved in a major crime for their service record.
one family shot major fireworks continuously for 6 hours, then they played their stupid music until 3:30 am . I do not know how there were no fires.
both of my dogs were terrified of the noise, and it did me no good also. I could not concentrate to watch TV or work on my computer
enough ranting . thanks for the visit

Yeah, we have become a society of my rights and to hell if it impacts anyone else....

I know what you mean Richard. Some people are so self-centered, it would never even occur to them that they're doing something wrong.

Very clever shot.... and I am sorry you had such a miserable night. The fireworks kept me awake also but not till 3:30! I would have been most displeased. My dogs were also afraid of the noise.

A truly original mailbox!!

Oh....you must live next to my neighbors. I live out in the country, and there really isn't much in the way of a fire dept. The neighbors don't care if they set things on fire, and they shoot off illegal fireworks for hours. We have to stay up to make sure the pasture doesn't go up in flames. Then the music.......the whole county can hear their noise. I guess these kinds of people are everywhere.

Nice capture... and rant, it seem to be the same all over...

Richard, I am watching what I say as you struck a nerve here. I literally got 2 hours sleep last night as the fireworks being shot off in my city (Illegally) kept my dogs stirred up. There was a neighbor dog that got loose and I helped to round it up as the poor thing was running scared all about. My dogs were all inside but still terrified by the noise and couldn't get to sleep. As you pointed out the police don't even bother coming out to make even a small attempt to deter people from shooting them off.

I had to comfort Amira last night - it got to the point that when she needed to go outside to go potty, if she heard the boom - right back in. finally had to let her use the hallway as there was no carpets to worry about. Wonderful image

You have a right to rant, your neighbors are very inconsiderate! Concerning your great image, all I can say is the wheel and boxes seems like the old saying - what goes around comes around - hope that applies to the nasty noisemakers also :)

Fantastic Capture!! Our Home backs up to a hill and every year I protect that hill and as you know California has not received a good rain in decades. This year was another success and no fire!!! I too detest the idiots who are uneducated and care less about others personal space and property. Welcome to the new America called Idiocracy!!!

Great shot! I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Some people just don't think about anybody except themselves.

I cannot believe the ignorance of these people appears to be so widespread Richard! I suggest you report them anonymously and tell the Police there's a sound of rapid gun fire and screams of "distress" The rapid gunfire will hopefully be from a firecracker and the screams of distress would be from excitement! Thankfully, it is hard to distinguish the two at a distance! lol I am dreadfully sorry that so many animals appear to have been distressed. These people should be punished!

It all boils down to the fact that - for the most part - our society is spoiled rotten. The new mantra seems to be "it's all about me... What I want to do is all that matters, because I have rights." Apparently no one else seems to. There are two things - two major things - that seem to be missing from our society today.... 1. Common sense, and 2. Common courtesy. Add to that the rapidly growing epidemic of stupidity these days, and you get idiots shooting fireworks until 4 in the morning (for two days prior to and two days following) the 4th (and not having a clue what the day is actually all about), and mental giants setting off fireworks on top of their heads. At least the idiot that did that managed to remove his DNA from the collective gene pool in the process... Anyway, that's a very cool photo, Richard!

That is one big stirrup Ric hard and I am sorry that you had to go through all of that noise and the discomfort for your dogs!
