Description
An octopus hiding in his coral den - taken at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I've always found octopi very sinister looking. I don't think they're evil - they're just another species trying to survive as best they can - it's just a visceral reaction I've had since childhood...
Please zoom.

Experiments have shown they have enormous intelligence. They are certainly much cleverer than many of the children I taught!

Delightfully Wonderful Work,
T.Rex
They are smart and can be funny (I wonder if they realize they are funny? Rats do.) But can be dangerous if teased. You lucky person being able to visit the Monterey Aquarium. More photos please. Keep up the good work! :-)

What a beautiful shot, he is well camouflaged amongst his surroundings.

Interesting I always had the same reaction when I would see an octopus. Perhaps it has something to do with the sinister ocean monster movies of the 1950's and 60's. I think they warped my childhood preceptions. :) This is a beautiful photo.

I think it's partly the way they move. They sort of sidle and lurk as opposed to darting happily about. I'd never thought of it before. :)

Another impressive shot. Crisp and sharp. I always had trouble with dirty glass and blurred images. Well done.
