Description

Every now and then I meet a person that loves the wildlife like I do. They will have raised something and then find themselves with an animal that they are not quite sure what to do with. This man is a very nice person. He is a veterinarian. He had a baby raccoon brought to him a few years ago. He named him Tater and ended up with a pet. Sometimes people do not understand the issues with mixing wildlife with domestic. Sometimes it ends in a bad way. Ok, I have led you on long enough. Tater and this VERY large dog are good friends. Look at the next post to see Tater after a romp with his pal. I just thought he looked so much like a dead raccoon! That is not to say it is always good to mix wild and domestic. Many times one or the other gets hurt very often. That is not the case here.

When I first saw the picture, my initial reaction was 'Why is Bev showing this photo, it's not like her!' Then I read your narrative! I wonder how many times they do this just to shake someone up? Wonderful capture and narrative - this is very good

Haaaa!!! This really got me laughing even without first having read your comments. A raccoon lying on its back like that, exposing it's sensitive belly can only mean TRUST! So THEN I had to read your comments! Tartar seems to really trust everyone in the garage, or he'd get up and cover that soft, sensitive part. Nice that domestic and wild get along so very well in this case. This is a most unusual picture. Keep up the good work! :-)

What fascinates me is his hind feet, almost human like in this photo! I hope Tater has a long carefree life!
