for me, it is childhood, the mystical wonders we discovered with such honest joy as children that somehow, and too oft, get packed away our mind's attic boxes as we get older, becoming neglected & forgotten - and i suppose part of my interpretation stems from the rose on the box, the old adage of stopping to indulge from time to time.. and i dunno, maybe it is just in this moment, here, now, but this has hit me kind of hard the more i sit & look upon it... i'm feeling overwhelmed a bit with emotion, a sadness, something melancholy and nostalgic, and something deeper still, something akin to a vulnerability... and maybe not your intent. but. there. it. is.

as always, you are right on the money, we have to go thru gateway moments to grow, and once that door closes...we have the memories, but can never be there again, for me , i've experienced some loss recently that has left a still-born quality to my being, that, and my kids showing the signs of growing into very much the incredible people i could have hoped for, there's a bittersweet pride in that
