Hello !
My name is Helle. I live in Denmark on the Island, Zealand. I have a husband and two sons and three grandchildren, so I am a happy person.
I like many kinds of art and I try to limit myself, but I dont succeed very well. I love my PSP9 and I think I use it every day. I like to draw, paint and experiment on canvas or paper and I wish I had time do it every day. My biggest wish is, that there would be 48 hours instead of the poor 24 a day. I just dont think it will ever happen ;)
A fantastic new world opened for me, when I was Introduced to Renderosity for the first time. I am very grateful to be a part if this site.

A fine piece of work, I like the rawness of this piece and I also like the original too, they both have their distinct qualities.

What a fun experiment! This gave your beautiful vase drawing an antiqued look.

Oh yes, now it looks like something painted on plaster a thousand years ago. What a delightful, if unexpected, result! :)

Helle, I'm only online for a few comments today (I just can't do more right now; and even 2 per gallery will take me a few sessions)...so I'm only doing 2 of your works right now. I'll comment on more soon, I promise. But I had to say something about this in person, even though I've said something to you personally. I love what you did with this---I'm not quite sure how you did it, but it came out as an 'artifact', which suits the subject perfectly. The original is beautiful, and has an almost ink quality (which isn't easy, as you used graphite). You got the harsh contrast of the black sections against the white, incl the white outlines in the actual horse and rider. You thereby captured one of the essences of ancient Greek motifs. And you captured the way their designs traversed the whole vase, so we only see some of the designs in any view. The background isn't important, I think (in reference to your not liking it, in the original): As long as it doesn't interfere with the vase, it's fine. (It doesn't interfere, in your original.) In this piece, the vase has been rendered a time-stained ruin, something truly archaeological; and you've "sepia'd" it (from a much more black original), also adding age and decay. I love the white splotches. A wonderful result with a wonderful original. This was worth revisiting, both in the original and in this marvelous new take on it. This feels like an archaeological "find," while the original looks like it were new. Beautiful work on both!
