Description

Back to the day job after some fun with iRay... This project came about as a result of a client trying to use a video quality 3D mesh to produce print quality renders. The issue was in the details...or lack of them. The original model we created was used in a 720p video at 25fps with full motion blur, and as such all the detail on the golf bag was produced using a bump map as it was more than enough to look realistic at video resolution. In order for the mesh to be useable at print res we kept the basic bag shape and basically added all the piping, zips, zip pullers and fine details, and added a few extra details to the trolley to allow for close up imagery to be rendered out. We also created a control rig for the trolley so it could be easily rendered in its folded position. The piping was created by projecting splines onto the base mesh and then extruding a circle along it to create the pipe, the zips used a similar method with the teeth being cloned along the resulting spline. It was a bit laborious, but I am pleased with the result. Thanks for looking....
