Description
On our recent trip, Carmel was bursting with a profusion of flowers in bloom all over town. If I had been on my own, I could easily have spent many hours wandering around town taking photos. But that wouldn't have been much fun for my grandson, so I only have a handful to share, of which this one is my favorite. As usual, I have no idea what kind of flower this is...

Well it's natural that Andrea would know the type of flower, I think she knows every plant on earth. (I know about 3.) When you posted this and said you didn't know what kind of flower it was, it brought me back to school days, when we made up latin names for plants; and they were pretty much in the vein of Monty Python's "Life of Brian," when they talked about Biggus Dickus. About that speed. (Though it was great to see the Pythons playing serious Romans acting like school kids.) Whatever it is, I love the shot...the droop and tactile quality to the whole assemblage is beautiful. I love the long sweep of it. And the dof is fine too (I agree with tara)---fine layers of flowers and leaves as we go back into space. The background feels almost like a fairy tale forest. The deep crimson of the flowers, here, make the center for the shot; while the leaves are beautiful veils. A beautiful piece, Claude. So much life in your posts.
