Description

I took this photo over 5 years ago. But when Dana posted a cool trail earlier I couldn't resist adding one to the trail collection. This is Zion's National Park located in Utah, USA. I was there in Late February or early March I believe. Anyway, most of the trees were still in winter hibernation mode. But, I still think it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. This was part of the trail to the Emerald Pools and one of the spots where you get to ford the stream. I made that sound like a big deal, but it was a small stream. :) Pat suggested I tweek this. I am not too good at tweeking, but I did make the attempt. Hopefully it is beter now.

It's a pretty scene. The photo looks a little washed out. I'd suggest tweaking it a little.

A beautiful view OK so a little more tweaking might help but It still looks pretty good to me.

What a gorgeous place! We loved Zion when we were there a couple years ago, and it's on our list of places to see again.

It is a beautiful place and a comfortable hike up to see the Emerald Pools. I couldn't get over the towering rock formations! I like the reflection in this pool!

Lived 20 minutes up the road from here for several years. Had the opportunity to see a great deal of well known and not so well known areas. It is a beautiful place! Like your POV on this image!

This has it all, dear Katherine! It's an impressing photo and a marvellous landscape, I guess it brings back great memories to you. Thinking about this, the Netherlands must be a kind of boring to you, although I can understand, something new can also be a sort of a surprising kind of challenge, huh? ( ;-) for sure the language is)

LOL..ah dear Mies, The Netherlands is far from boring to me in any respect. We have unique architecture and landscapes. Where else do you get to see a boat seeming to sail on a farmers field? Where else do you have people who have developed such ingenious ways to control water. I am quite certain there is no place in the States that has a fine art museum whose entrance stairway goes down past an open window where you can reach your hand out and touch the water of the canal (The Mauritshuis). I really could hardly believe it when I saw that!! Just a few centimeters higher and it would have flooded that underground part of the museum. We have beautiful forests, dunes, beaches, islands, the green heart (unique again in that most places in the world allow their big cities to grow together to form one giant cement jungle), and gorgeous farm fields and canals. And there are not many places in the world where you can get a POV from a dyke where you can so clearly see the sea level above the land level. I could go on and on about all the wonderful things to see and do here. But, that does not detract from the value of other beautiful places in the world like this one which I do miss just enough to want to visit there again. :) Yes, the language is a challenge for me...I do think if I were younger it and could hear more clearly it would not be such a problem because in many ways it shares similarieties with english. It is good for me to keep working on it though. :)

You don't seem to be so active, but have been here for a while... you have some lovely pics, and I hope to see more soon.

Thanks for stopping by,

I took some time away to focus on getting my integration exams done here in the Netherlands. I have been learning Dutch in order to do that....I am a slow learner so it took me a while to get enough that I could make good enough guesses to pass the exams. :) I never have been one to post every day though. I am not as good at photography as most who post here. Some of you are so talented. I just pretty much point and shoot and hope for a good result.
