Description


This is the back of the St. Vitus Church in the north of Heidelberg. It is the oldest church in the region, 774 the Church is first mentioned in documents. In the years 1052 and 1483 it was reconstructed and enlarged. Today it is used by Catholic Christians. Thanks for viewing.

A beautiful shot with a wonderful history. When I visited my aunt in Soest a few decades ago, their church was celebrating its 1000 year history. Amazing to us from the states who have nothing older than two centuries. Lovely image, Klaus.

This church certainly looks old (just as I like it :) ), though I didn't expect it to be more than a thousand years old!

I'd be real curious how the stained glass windows look like. Imagine if you took this photo at night with lights shining out from inside through the windows; I think they'd look BEAUTIFUL. :)
