Description
So I upgraded to DS4.8 to try I-ray and Genesis 3. Having real problems with lighting. This is a merged image - the base image was done in 3Delight with advanced shader light and took 17 minutes. The I-ray image was too noisy to use when the built-in timer ended at 2 hrs - HDRI lighting plus distant light. G3 character made by transferring some morphs from G2.
Seems to be some issues with non Iray materials - my carpet showed no displacement so the character hovered in mid-air?
So much to learn and so little time.

SickleYield has a really good beginners lighting tutorial on You-Tube and Deviantart. She can take away some of the growing pains that we all experience from the change over (LOL). As a good first general lesson, on existing images with 3Dlight shaders, change all your surfaces to IRAY and proceed from there.
