The loud bang woke her from her sleep coming from outside somewhere in the corridor. “What was that??” she thought as she woke from a rather needed sleep after a long day in engineering. She caught a ever so slight movement in the corner of her room, considering she had no pets, she slowly reached down and got her guns, quickly calling for lights as she jumped out of bed. Whatever that thing was, was no one’s pet. Thank goodness she was a marksman and make quick work of it before it could even get to her. A loud roar, scream….cry….whatever that was, was heard from the corridor again. Quickly rushing out to see what it was she noticed she had forgotten her pants. After another strange noise coming from the direction of her quarters made her decide this was no time for modesty. She would just have to make do with what she could find and figure out what was going on aboard the USS Timir…. I was watching the remake of Total Recall and then the movie Doom as I was working on this last night. There is a scene in Total Recall toward the very beginning where Doug’s “wife” jumps out of bed to go to work and she has boy shorts on. That shot started this image in my head and then Doom helped with the dark creepiness of the movie. And a little bit of the game Dead Space creeped in as well.
