Description

Founded in 1977, Vauxhall City Farm is one of a handful of farms found in London and is located beside Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, South-East London. This farm is run as a charity, providing education, youth projects, a riding centre and more! As a kid I used to visit this farm often on school trips and was certainly the first place I remember seeing a variety of animals in person and all in one place. On this visit I was just as surprised then as I was now as the last thing I expected in a 'City Farm' was Alpacas (is this common?!?!). There is free entry to the farm but donations are welcome, current opening times are Wed - Sun: 10:30 - 16:00. This place is certainly worth it for anyone fond of animals !! I had no idea this was even there; the animals look quite happy and well-cared-for. Alpacas? Sure, lots of farms have them now. Great presentation in this piece!
