btw those spikes are pretty high. I had default rendersettings which means 20 mb rambuffer and I suspect that lack of rambuffer causes this effect

Back face culling off, away from the terrain and far below, maybe 100% transparent water, no reflections? That's my guess. Good idea anyway, very different.

seems to be a very interesting terrain... the image looks very cool! congratz Martin (btw, I'm not sure whether it's a bug, I've had similiar effects from time to time, but never as pretty as this one)
