Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Wow indeed, what a great POV to show off those speed bumps on the petals, as well as the lovely waterdrops (did you get rain? LUCKY YOU!!! We were 95 degrees this weekend, and I'm completely wilted). My skills are no more brilliant than yours, sometimes I just find a lucky spot. This shot is absolutely beautiful!

Very beautiful, amazing colour.

Wow these are so beautiful ! We only had orange one at one time in a small flower bed in front of our home in a former town. My Birth Town has a lily festival every summer and the fields of different colors are amazing ---So I have been told. Sadly to far away and no family left to visit, therefore we don't travel the eight hour trip back to take in this event.

While I certainly agree with you that Denise makes some extremely impressive photos, especially of flowers, your skills are not that of a lightweight either. This is a superb photo. I love how you digifiddled the background in order to make the main bloom stand out. I love how you share the beauty of your garden with all of us here. You and Denise both inspire me to try taking more dramatic flower photos. While I have not yet ever acheived the level of skill the two of you have I am very happy with the improvementover what I used to do. Thanks to you and so many other talented artists here.

GOSH! It is beautiful and the dew adds to its fantastic beauty. Hope it will last for many years with NO bugs to spoil it.
