I liked that you followed your iris image with this---because it's more of your inner vision of the iris, only it's another tale, another variation of the journey inside. Here the petals really unfold for us, as if they're unfolding a tale. The upper petals are like curtains to a huge drama below. And some of those curtains come curling down into the lower portion, interacting with the very thing they're presenting. As in a number of your other pieces, you cross the line between plant forms and inner forms, forms of energy and such: That big furling petal on the left---from the top, curling down through the center---is real flower stuff, but also pure energies. It almost likes like a fantasy twister (tornado). And that isn't out of place, because a flower, when seen close up, is a cataclysm of energies and convolutions etc. Flowers really are huge dramas inside, huge cataclysms, oceanic things...which is natural, given that they're the sexual 'pageant' of the plant; but the way they do it is like every sensual thing in nature packed into a single bloom. So your cataclysmic center, here, is right in line with the inner life of a flower. (Georgia O'Keeffe would be right at home with this.) You've made eyebrows---for your tigresses eyes---out of the petals; and they're multiply layered, and keep evolving out of each other. They make a huge head-dress made out of iris-stuff, with very dramatic colors, in fact they're a waterfall converging over the eyes, in intense purples, blues, oranges, etc. And the upper petals are like a huge crown. And you have cellular structures too---the segments in the upper petals: They look like the cellular forms inside a tree, or inside animal tissue. Lots of life forms here. And the lower portions of the eyes (under the eyes) are met by 'flames' flowing downwards, like the patterns in a tiger's face, but made of the iris and of energy. It's a really intense face, like the goddesses of ancient India and other places, where, to look into their eyes can reveal more than a single human can absorb. Maybe that's why the tigress-goddess must remain alone---too much power for the naked eye; but also because that power will result in life of all kinds (which humans can digest), so how the flower 'gets' there isn't entirely our business! But you see it, and so painted its face for us. And it's mighty intense and sensual, multi-colored face. This is also "cropped"---like the last image---cutting off much of the exterior and bringing us dead-center into that gaze and all the powers around it. Your crops in these last two images are unusually tight and intense, compared to a lot of your other images; and they zoom us right into the place of inner focus. The eyes themselves are beautiful, too---with those little white spheres in the center which we assume contain powers much bigger than their size. Another wonderful departure from you---at least from what we've seen in your gallery---and a portrait of an intense inner gaze, as if peering out from the boiler room of the galaxy. A wonderful heave and wave-crash of an image---terrific, Carol. Your artistic powers just keep radiating all over the place...

Thanks so much for your amazing comment, Mark. This is an unusual work, I know, and you saw inside what I created. I do enjoy and admire your fearless ability to dive deep into an image, to experience it in your own personal and very unique way, and express your observations and feelings so exquisitely. I am constantly exploring new ideas and new techniques, and I'm so very pleased you are on this artistic journey with me.

Yow! Alluring and dangerous... The image perfectly fits the text - no doubt. The message is clear. Capturing, your work is, again, no doubt.
