Description
Asilomar State Beach is a short stretch of coastline located on the northern part of the Monterey Peninsula, in the town of Pacific Grove (which is known mainly for the annual migration of monarch butterflies which descend on the town in thousands every fall). While not as interesting in the diversity of it's marine life as Point Lobos (at least as far as we could tell), it is picturesque & has it's own charms. We were there in the morning & it was cool & misty.
To answer Juliette Gribnau's question from yesterday's post, I use a Panasonic Lumix FZ70. It's the only camera I own. I've been encouraged by several people to upgrade to a DSLR, but I like the portability & ease of use of my camera & probably won't upgrade unless some new technology comes along that I'm unable to resist...

Like you I only use pocket cameras. I have secondhand TZ series, I buy them if they pop up on eBay Anything larger is too heavy for my hand. I usually have up to three dog leads in the other! These colours are marvellous!

If it were my pic, I'd want to brighten it up considerably so I could see the details.

This is stunning; it's moody, atmospheric, and full of the sense of ocean magic. Beautiful work!
