Description
The small town or village is Lynton in North Devon. Lynmouth is below and just out of sight with a pedestrian link by a vernacular railway.
There was once a famous rescue by the lifeboat men of Lynmouth when a ship foundered just off the coast in very bad weather. The boat could not be launched here so it was pushed and pulled over these hills, in parts 1 in 4, to Porlock about 12 miles away.

not a road to lose attention to your or any other driver! seems like they would have a guard rail. great landscape and capture

How amazingly beautiful this is; if it were here in the US there would be several layers of safety railings and all sorts of warning signs. It's refreshing to see a spot where they let a person's natural survival instinct guide their behaviour!

one of those roads where you wish you had got your brakes tested, and yes the railway is well worth the ride.
