Description

after almost two months of no rain (very unusual for Columbia River Gorge) we finally had some rain come down. this shot is of a planter at Treasure House. You can see the difference from the sheltered section to the unsheltered. the air smells so nice right now.... I wish you all a wonderful Sunday Mike

We are really dry here in Phoenix! Missed a good rain last weekend. Went around our heat island effect. I had to water plants tonight. Get so expensive! Glad you got some rain. Wish some of the excess around the country could be more evenly distributed! A fine photo, Mike! Excellent POV and capture!

LOL--Do Not Cross the Line ! Good eye, awesome looking picture Mike. Sounds like Mother Nature has her wires crossed, parts of our country needs rain badly the other parts are doing okay.

I do love that first-rain smell! Nothing quite so ennervating! I'm enjoying our rain, even if is predicted to be short-lived and followed by another heat wave...

well, it is so bad in CA their water is being diluted!! we had lots of rain earlier this summer, but it only takes 3-4 weeks for the ground to looked parched. several places in my yard has 1 inch wide cracks where the clay soil is exposed. this week I will buy some soil to cover it up

It's so cool to see the difference of the natural element here, rain is usually a good thing - our Farmers out West are always asking for more and it's never enough for a good crop/harvest - go figure ? and elsewhere it's flooding, which could be worse ... BB

Looks like a 'before and after' image. We got a few days rain, just enough to flood and create mudslides. Now its back to what I fear will be the new normal, hot, sunny and dry.

A fun photo, Mike! I love how it smells right after a gentle rain.. The rain we've had lately has not been very gentle, though! :-P Cool observation and photo.
