the great blue heron is the largest heron in north america. it is a large bird with a gray body with brown and black highlights and a six-foot wingspan. can you see him? (he's between the two tree trunks just left of center; he's flying) sorry this is a bit blurry, he startled me when he took off. I was photographing something else and he rose out of the water; I didn't know he was there. thanks for looking and maybe leaving a comment. thanks so much for past views and comments, too!

... I also had an earlier posted experience with a Blue Heron, and it too eluded my attempt for a photo op. Somehow, it went straight up into some trees before I could push a button... I hope you enjoyed your nature trek, thank you for posting and I look forward to seeing more of your adventures into the "wild" :)

very good spur of the moment capture. last year near to where I live one flew right in front of me while driving. I slammed on my brake, but it's feet hit my windshield. it continued flying
