As time goes by, Archie, Reed and Skylar find themselves visiting the new planet more and more. Archie and Reed even dress in period costumes to blend in better, but Skylar still prefers to wear his everyday earth clothes. On this particular day, they are greeted by several different colored birds that fly around above them as if curious about what they are doing. 'I was wondering where the birds were.' says Reed, to Sir Girard as they walk across the drawbridge ramp. 'The populations are small right now.' says Sir Girard. 'But we are hopeful they will begin to adapt to this new world. We brought several varieties from the old world and have just begun to seed this planet with them. Perhaps you might want to bring a few of your varieties from earth and see how they survive here?' 'That sounds like a good idea.' says Reed. 'But we need to be careful. There are many types we don't wish to come over to this planet. It looks like you have many varieties that at least look the same as ones we have on earth.' They reach to place where the picnic lunch has been laid out for all of them to enjoy. Talk rambles on with the earth men and the aliens. The ladies are most adroit in explaning things about their former world. Sir Girard makes a startling revelation. 'I am not from the planet the rest of these people are from. I was only visiting their planet shortly before it went super nova. The spaceman introduced me to this group only weeks before they left. He talked me into joining them and giving them help in areas of my own expertise. On my planet, everyone is a shape shifter, but no one on their old planet was capable of doing it. I was surprised to learn how unique my race was. But my abilities have come in very handy on many occassions during this transition from their old planet to this new one. I suspect I will eventually return to my own people, once I feel I am no longer needed here. But it is fun watching things develop from square one.' 'Wow!' say Archie. 'I had no idea you didn't belong with these people. That explains a lot about how they react with you. I can still remember our first day here when you were entertaining the ladies as a big bear. I was amazed when you did that backward flip!' 'Yes, the social structure here is quite different than on my planet as well. Here, the ladies are in charge and make all the decisions for the community. I see your planet is just the opposite. I hope the two groups can work out an acceptable compromise for rule, else I see a bit of a bump in the road ahead for both species. It is a good thing you have only brought 25 of your people here.' 'Thus far, both groups seem to be getting along fine. But we haven't had any challenges to their tranquility yet either. That is when true feelings come out. I think that after a year we should know quite a bit more. We won't bring anymore colonists over before we see how well these adapt.' says Reed.
