Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

ROFLMAO! I can just picture the scene, Ralphie the fox killer terrified of the pussycats, and Fritz stubbornly refusing to have anything to do with whatever is wanted of him unless it involves food! Your furkids are so photogenic, this is a wonderful portrait!

Denise beat me to the fox reference concerning Ralph being terrorized by cats secured in boxes. Great photos of Fritz and Rosie and all of the stuffed toys. I hope that fritz selected the alligator for me!!!

Love this pic of Ralph's bodyguard:)

Afraid of cats. I love it! Terrific picture of Fritz. The position of the doll makes it look like he has very skinny legs. The pink slippers are a nice touch though.

Sweet shot

Oh no..... there's nothing worse than watching your beloved dog have a seizure! Crysta used to have them and the after-effects lasted alllll night long and were pitiful to experience. I sure hope the medicine is keeping them away! Precious shot (and the one of both of them together). Sweet story about the vet's office, too. :)

Hester had age old epilepsy, I hated it. I see Fritz shares his toys with Rosie :o)))

Aw what a cute photo of Fritz by himself surrounded by his toys. And how sweet of him to share with Rosie. Ralphie must of very proud of Fritz at the vet's office when he said he would take care of the scary cats. Smiles. Thanks for the beautiful pics and cute story Andrea.. P.S. Sure hope Fritz has the right meds to help with seizures. It must be very difficult for him and you when he has an attack. Luckily our dog little Misty didn't have them.
