Another crab from our walk at Asilomar. I thought his claws looked like full grain leather in this shot - the kind you see on overstuffed armchairs...
Thanks for the positive comments on my two postings from yesterday (Chrome Reflections & Splash). I almost didn't post either of them because I wasn't sure if they were worth posting. I'm often surprised that I don't have a clue which photos will appeal to people & which won't - it remains a mystery to me.

I know just what you mean. Sometimes I post something that I think is going to change the world, and nobody cares a whit about it. Other times I post something I thought was just ... "meh" ... and everybody loves it. I'm SO happy you posted the chrome reflection shot! I never favorite anything, but that made it in. :)

What an intriguing creature this fellow is; the red claws are wonderful, as is the stripey waistcoat, and his far, far, far-apart eyes. Excellent shot!
