Description

Ok, I'm an ancient Rhino user. My Rhino is the 2.0 version, my Flamingo the 1.0. It had been too much time since I last modelled something. Life can be a tyrant and not let you to dispose of your time as you would like. And now I apologize for the long story, but I'm going to explain how I came out with this ‘thing’. After a number of inconveniences and delays, I installed back my Rhino version and I decided to find out if I am still capable to model something. Behind my back my father was watching the TV at a very loud volume, and they were broadcasting a documentary about old artisans, so I decided to try to build the first solid thing they were mentioning starting from the moment my Rhino would open. Since they were speaking about bottles, jars, pots and so on, I thought that a simple object would be the best thing for my new start with modelling... My Rhino opened and suddenly they began to speak about art, originality, cleverness... They went with such abstract things for a long while (ouch =.=) and finally they stated something like: "And now we'll reach the church of St Stephen." So 'church' was the first solid thing I heard... It wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but... Ok, I built up this simple church... But I'm glad I did it, because I really learned something about putting things in a landscape... I know I must work a lot on materials and so on, but somewhere one must start...

A very nice church model and the background fits perfectly. Fantastic image. You have not forgotten how the program works.

You did a marvelous job in constructing this church, using your old Rhino program. Very nice lighting effects in this.

Another idea that might be fun and cool is to keep the background in the same style and lighting as the church. It would make an excellent setting for some animated characters to explore. The main thing is you are having fun using the program you like best... :) Good to see you post again. Keep up the good rendering!

And that's not a bad starting point! I like how it fits into the background!

I'd never heard about Rhino as such, as the Bryce user I am ! This church was beautifully modelled and I can imagine the time you must have spent twiddling with the technicalities and options of the software, if the settings are the same as Bryce's.
