Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Stunning capture Andrea. God bless.

Well, I was going to try a little humour about the likeness, but when I read this lovely animal has cancer, I thought better of it. Such a touching capture and a real pleasure to view, despite the eyebrows!

Delightfully Wonderful Work,

A really sweet shot! This little fella really travels in style and has loving and caring "parents" so he can still get out and about.

Wonderful pic

A great shot and I like the random gymnast. As a child, I used a carpet-beating bar for such activities.

The elderly gentleman and his human companion are quite handsome. Even though he is old and in poor health I noticed he is still tethered lest he go bounding off in pursuit of squirrels. And yes, what is the deal with that gymnast?

That child is either brave or foolish, to pull that maneuver with the sharp brick edges so close to her head! Great portrait of man & his best friend!

Sweet capture, including the young lady! it is so good of the man and wife to keep their furkid as long as they can. My thoughts and prayers go with them when the decision is made - I know it will be hard

There's so much to like about this picture! The random gymnast, of course. I remember doing such things when I was a child, with absolutely no fear. Your random man of the day looks like a good sort, with a nice temperament and a good heart. That's a nice-looking dog, and he has an attractive conveyance! It's much like Mandy's, only hers is green. I always appreciate people who take good care of their sick and elderly dogs with a pleasant attitude, since we're of that tribe. It's nice to see someone else with their infirm family member in a doggie stroller. :) I won't show the picture to Mandy, or she'll start saying she'd rather have a red one. LOL!

It is said that a married couple gets to look like each other more and more with the years. But I've also heard the same about animals and their owners. This photo seems to bear that out. It would have been interesting to have a photo of the man, his wife and their dog. Keep up the good work. :-)

I like the man and his dog story and the little 'purple girl' does add to the photo!

Awesome capture all the way around and hope that child's Mom catches her at it before she falls on her head, lol. Kids, give their parents tons of gray hairs collected each year, glad my child raising years are over, lol...:::)))
