Description
Another shot from my series "Site Visit", photos from the north of Heidelberg, where I live. There are not just little quaint streets here, as you can see. This white city block was built after WW2, in the early 50's, because housing was needed for American soldiers and their families. Today the apartments are rented to everyone.

Very nice shot of the "big city" and interesting history also, Klaus. What I noticed is all the bicycles. Seems many more folks there travel by bike, which one would not see here.

I really like that building. They kept in a style that doesnt look odd against the the invironment and I see they have blinds too. I wouldnt mind having an apartment there... :)

It may be more modern, but it's still cleaner and more well-tended than anything in any city I've seen over here.

I like the wide open square and I think that I am seeing trolley tracks too. I really like the yellow house on the left side of your photo! Ich mag die weit geöffneten Platz, und ich denke, dass ich sehe Hängebahnen zu. Ich mag das gelbe Haus auf der linken Seite Ihr Foto!

Das gelbe Haus gibt einen schönen Kontrast. Sehr schönes Foto. Der Fahrradfahrer hat eine etwas merkwürdige Kopfbedeckung. Ist das ein Regenschirm?

Great photo! Is that the building directly across the strasse from "Campbell Kaserne"? If so, that is where I lived during my all too brief assignment in Heidelberg.

A very beautiful view of post-war architecture. This type of housing reminds me of a similar building in Freiburg which used to have its own garrison as well, with a lot of Americans and French living there. A superb and interesting photo !
