Description

These are two faces of the four-faced tower replica of the one that stands at the entrance to the Khmer temple called the Bayon, in the ancient city of Angkor Thom, in Cambodia. The Bayon was built in the late 12th or early 13th century. I did some postwork on the lighting to illustrate my own vision of the atmosphere wonderfully created at the Guimet museum of Asian arts, in Paris, as the museum exhibits about 60,000 statues and artefacts from over 17 Asian countries. It was such a great moment watching a small samples of the magnificent objects on display there, last month.

Thank you very much for your comments on my previous flower picture. Have a nice week!... Please zoom in for greater overall impression!

Jean-Luc, I very much enjoyed this fascinating presentation. Your gallery is such a blessing as you share photos of wonderful and mystical places that most of us will never get to visit. Thank you for taking the time to work on the lighting to better illustrate your personal vision of the atmosphere.

The Southeast Asian milieux were all vastly enriched by Indian culture. This sculpture may well represent some Hindu or Buddhist divinity.

Like all the small details on this sculpture. As well as the stylized nagas. :)
